Comparative study of follicular unit yield in elliptical versus trapezoid donor strip in hair transplantation

<p class="abstract"><strong>Background:</strong> Hair transplantation is a surgical method of management hair loss. The classical involves harvesting an elliptical strip from the donor area and dissection follicular units, which are then implanted into recipient area. A modification trapezoid strip, where ends tapered to reduce transection follicles.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Methods:</strong> 12 male patients with androgenetic alopecia undergoing by were included in study. One cm was harvested all patients. end designed other trapezoid. dissected grafts counted.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Results:</strong> yielded more units 10 out cases (83.3%), one equal case had greater yield.</p><p class="abstract"><strong>Conclusions:</strong> Transection can be minimized 30-40% strip. 28.3% than end.</p>
